Veteran's Day 2008

Last Fall (2008), the brothers of Kappa Omicron took advantage of Veteran's Day to honor the senior citizens and veterans of the Bixby Towers retirement community in Long Beach. After a rousing rendition of our traditional arrangement of the Star Spangled Banner, we sang a set of standard Red Book material including Brotherhood and Duty and Sinfonia, Glory in thy Name, along with The Eagle, a majestic accompanied song for men's chorus. Although our audience was eager to hear our set out, they also expressed interest in the performers, and we were each invited to share a little bit about ourselves, including our instruments, fields of study, and career aspirations. In the end, it was very inspiring to shake the hands of veterans from various eras and hear their gratitude for our performance.
